KCET - California Coastal Trail
In addition to managing my duties for KCET’s newsmagazine show “SoCal Connected,” I was also a part of the collaborative team effort to keep track of California Coastal Trail acquisition videos and write compelling, engaging copy. At the time, I was a social media and site editor for KCET’s “SoCal Connected.” I cross-promoted this project on our “SoCal Connected” social media platforms, encouraging our viewers and followers to follow the conversation using #myCAcoast. I also transcribed videos, added metadata, choose and formatted images for the videos, and also helped add destinations to our map using Google Fusion Tables.

I strategically developed a social media plan to grow our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts for “SoCal Connected.” I successfully managed the digital presence of “SoCal Connected” by writing TV show copy and uploading multimedia content on a daily basis. We also promoted our broadcast segments by giving audiences and fans a chance to engage with our reporters via Facebook Live, where they talked about their upcoming segments.
I was a part of a team of producers and reporters involved in providing up-to-date, breaking news updates on the Porter Ranch Gas Leak. I was in charge of posting related stories on social media in a timely manner, and adding supplemental, related articles and videos to our digital feed and main show web page. I also helped draft a timeline for the Porter Ranch Gas Leak, a long with a colleague.
Ballot Brief was another political project I was briefly involved with. I helped upload content, I occasionally crafted and reported content, and I also helped with the placing of multimedia content. The goal was to create proposition and legislative explainers and find innovative ways to keep the local community engaged in both the digital and broadcast spaces.
